Diceva Nelson Mandela che cominciare una rivoluzione è facile, è il portarla avanti che è molto difficile.
Questo festival aggiunge un tassello importante al nostro percorso rivoluzionario: i bambini. Uno dei ricordi che non riusciremo mai più a cancellare dalla nostra memoria saranno i trecento bambini urlanti che hanno assistito alla Masterclass sull’animazione di Andrea Bozzetto e Valentina Mazzola, “genitori” della serie “Topo Tip”. Un entusiasmo vivo, vero, energico, che ci ha scaldato il cuore e dimostrato che la rotta da seguire passa per le radici più fragili, quelle che spuntano appena. Abbiamo iniziato ad innaffiare quelle radici, per farle crescere, e non ci fermeremo.
Questo festival ha rappresentato per noi un momento di svolta interiore. Ci siamo strutturati, abbiamo definito meglio i ruoli dei 48 volontari, abbiamo cercato di investire sui due mesi di tempo aggiuntivi (ottenuti spostando il DFF da gennaio a marzo) per arrivare pronti e senza sbavature all’appuntamento, e ci siamo riusciti. Ogni ospite, ogni spettatore che si è fermato a parlare con noi, ha notato un ritorno del clima elettrico ma al tempo stesso familiare e accogliente che solo la magia del DFF riesce a trasmettere.
Questo festival ci ha dato l’opportunità di conoscere persone straordinarie, partendo dai docenti delle masterclass: Simone Laudiero, Valerio Vestoso, Andrea Bozzetto e Valentina Mazzola; passando per gli ospiti: Walter Bianchi, Gigione, Andrey Maslenkin, e i premiati: Mohammad Farahani, Anna Hints, Samer Beyhum, Eduardo Ovejero, Jesus Soria, Lashon Hampton.
Un grazie particolare anche ad Ilaria Ferri e Serena Ritarossi.
Ognuno di loro ci ha trasmesso qualcosa che porteremo per sempre con noi.
Questo festival ci ha fatto incontrare due persone straordinarie come Antonia Grimaldi e Marco Cesaro, i più stretti collaboratori di Claudio Gubitosi nel sogno lungo 50 anni chiamato Giffoni Experience. Poter parlare con loro, ascoltando soprattutto i tantissimi consigli, dati con la benevolenza di un fratello maggiore che aiuta il più piccolo, li terremo cari e li metteremo in pratica, cercando di migliorarci anno dopo anno con ancora maggiore assiduità.
Questo festival ci ha dato il privilegio di insegnare qualcosa a centinaia di bambini delle Medie per i progetti ‘Il Cinema lo facciamo noi’ e ‘Futurama’, imparando a nostra volta tanto su un settore che rappresenta meglio di tutti come sarà il mondo tra vent’anni. Per questo ringraziamo Francesca Bianchi, tutto partì da una rapida chiacchierata durante Eco Reattivo della scorsa estate; le dirigenti Lucia Minieri, Simonetta Marzella, Concetta Senese e Alessandra Nardoni per aver creduto nella nostra proposta.
Questo festival ci ha fatto capire che ha raggiunto una dimensione superiore rispetto a quella che pensavamo, riuscendo ad avere una media di duecento spettatori a serata anche nelle prime due, sperimentali, ospitate dal Multisala Sisto, per le quali non smetteremo mai di ringraziare Edoardo Ciotoli, Roberto Cipriani, Antonio Bruni e tutto lo staff.
Questo festival ha fatto capire alla nostra città che è possibile vivere e svilupparsi grazie ad un evento culturale, che negli anni ha l’obiettivo di sobbarcarsi l’onere di diventare un pilastro dell’economia cittadina, sdebitandoci con l’Amministrazione (che ringraziamo in toto, dal sindaco agli impiegati e operai che hanno lavorato per il bene del festival) e i cittadini che, fino ad oggi, ci hanno sorretto e sostenuto come dei genitori nei confronti dei figli piccoli. Questo rapporto si sta per invertire, ci vorrà ancora qualche anno, ne siamo consapevoli, ma vogliamo che la nostra crescita corrisponda allo sviluppo del territorio e della sua economia.
Questo festival ci ha insegnato che, con la forza del nostro cuore, possiamo portare a compimento la nostra piccola rivoluzione.

#DFF13: the revolution goes on
Nelson Mandela used to say: “For a revolution is not just a question of pulling a trigger; its purpose is to create a fair just society”.
This festival adds an important piece to our revolutionary journey: the children. One of the memories that we will never be able to erase are the three hundred screaming children who attended the master class about Animation by Andrea Bozzetto and Valentina Mazzola, who are the “parents” of the cartoon series “Topo Tip”. A big and dynamic enthusiasm that has warmed our hearts demonstrating that the path to be taken passes through the most fragile roots, those that are barely visible. We have started to water those roots, to make them grow, and we are not going to stop.
This festival has represented for us a moment of inner change. We are structured, we have better defined the roles of the 48 volunteers, we tried to invest on the additional two months (obtained by moving the DFF from January to March) to get ready and we succeeded. Every guest, every single person of the audience who has stopped to talk with us, has noticed a return of the electric, welcoming and familiar spirit that only the charm of the DFF can transmit.
This festival gave us the opportunity to meet many amazing people, from the ones who taught the masterclasses – Simone Laudiero, Valerio Vestoso, Andrea Bozzetto, and Valentina Mazzola – to our guests – Walter Bianchi, Gigione, Andrey Maslenkin, Mohammad Farahani, Anna Hints, Samer Beyhum, Eduardo Ovejero, Jesus Soria, and Lashon Hampton. Also a special thanks to Ilaria Ferri and Serena Ritarossi. Each and every one of them meant something to us; we will always keep this memory within our hearts.
This festival also gave us the opportunity to meet two extraordinary people such as Antonia Grimaldi and Marco Cesaro. They work for the Giffoni Experience and are Claudio Gubitosi‘s closest and longest-running collaborators. We would like to thank them for their valuable suggestions for improvement; we will do our best to follow their lead.
This festival gave us the opportunity, the privilege even, to teach something to the youth thanks to ‘Il Cinema lo facciamo noi‘ and ‘Futurama‘. For that, we need to thank Francesca Bianchi – everything can be traced back to the chit-chat we had during ‘Eco Reattivo’ last Summer –, Lucia Minieri, Simonetta Marzella, Concetta Senese and Alessandra Nardoni, for having faith in us and our project.
This festival made us realise that it is bigger than we thought, reaching about two hundreds people per night, even the first two – experimental – nights at Multisala Sisto, for which we are endlessly thankful to Edoardo Ciotoli, Roberto Cipriani, Antonio Bruni and the entire staff.
Thanks to this festival, our town realised that it is possible to live and to develop as a town thanks to a cultural event, that has the goal of become one of the main pillars of the town economy, returning the favour to our government (which we thank for everything, from the major to the other employees who worked for the festival’s good) and the citizens, who supported us as parents support their children up to now. This relationship is about to reverse. It will take a few years more, we know that, but we want that our growth will match with the development and the economy of this town.
This festival taught us that, with the strength of our hearts, we can accomplish our little revolution.
